In 2015, we opened the doors to our very first Richwood Coffee shop with a simple but bold idea: what if stopping at the bank felt less like a transaction and more like an experience?
What if it felt welcoming?
What if it brought people together?
And what if something as simple as a cup of coffee could make our communities stronger?
Ten years later, that idea has grown into something truly incredible.
How It Started—and How It’s Grown
Our first Richwood Coffee shop opened in August 2015, and it quickly became clear that people wanted more than just great coffee. They wanted a place to connect.
Since then, we’ve been proud to add coffee shops in Delaware, Marysville, Springfield, Bellefontaine, and Plain City, each one designed to feel like a natural extension of its community.
These spaces were created to be places where:
- Friends can catch up over coffee
- Kids can grab a sweet treat after school
- Neighbors can meet, talk, and linger
- And yes—where you can still take care of your banking needs
Because banking should feel human.
Coffee With a Purpose
From day one, Richwood Coffee has been 100% donation-based.
As a bank, we’re not allowed to make money on coffee—and that rule became the heart of the mission. When you give at Richwood Coffee, 100% of your donation goes directly into the account of a local nonprofit.
Those donations support:
- Local schools
- Human services organizations
- Animal rescues
- Community programs
- And so many other causes doing good work close to home
Every cup poured becomes a chance to give back.
